Simon Waller

Having moved away from the coast, Simon attended UNE in Armidale studying Botany and Plant Pathology (with a heavy dose of Chemistry) and fell in love with the North West region, Jesus and then a girl from the region, in that order.

Before going to Moore College in 1990 Simon worked as an Industrial Chemist (making Fabric softner and detergents). There was also a stint as a Landscape gardener. He also spent 2 1/2 years working with The Anglican Youth Department in Sydney (now Youth Works) in their school camping ministry, Howard Educational Camps.
Simon has served as Deacon in training in Uralla, Moree as curate and assistant, Boggabri as Vicar and now Warialda. This current placement is the longest he’s lived anywhere.

Simon is married to Jenny, has four children. To keep sane and relax he enjoys trying to grow anything he can find from seed, cutting up wood and putting it back together, and making wooden model ships (that take 3 years to build). He has rediscovered a love of reading, anything from fantasy novels to theology and apologetics.
